Mission, vision, & values

Our mission, vision, and values are the foundation of BRICK, guiding our efforts to create meaningful, positive change and ensuring that every action we take is aligned with our commitment to supporting and uplifting the communities we serve.

Mission

We’re on a mission to support families from pre-cradle-to-career through holistic support, excellent schools, and clear pathways to college and career. By creating a comprehensive network of services, we are righting the wrongs of racial and economic inequality and paving the way for families to forge futures abundant with opportunity, wellness, and joy.

Vision

We envision a world of racial and economic justice, where every child and family has the support they need to learn, achieve, and work towards a fulfilling life of personal and collective prosperity.

Our values

Community rootedness

Our work is rooted in the strength and knowledge of the community. Our work is rooted in love and healing.

Continuous improvement

We pursue our mission with determination and urgency, embracing innovation, taking risks, and evaluating outcomes to continuously  improve ourselves, our work, and our shared community.

Accountability

We honor our commitments, we tear down barriers,  and we stay honest, keeping our promises to ourselves and our communities.

Reciprocity

Guided by the Ubuntu principle, “I am because we are,” we believe that a rising tide lifts all boats, emphasizing mutual support and shared success. We put stock in the process of being in relationship with others.

Faithful commitment

We are driven in our work by a deep faith in the power of children and families, in the mission of our work, and in the attainability of our vision for the future.
